“My Sportsmobile 4×4 takes me places other photographers cannot get to. I love using the van as a blind and shooting wildlife through the windows of the pop-up top.”

“Couldn’t be happier with my rock climber. Sportsmobile built it just the way I wanted it. There is a space or compartment for all of my equipment, including a seven cubic foot under-floor steel security compartment.”

The Sprinter’s 75″ interior height provides a comfortable space over the platform bed. Sliding screen windows, 15″ x 45″, provide cross ventilation. A 3-speed quiet attic fan can provide lots more. Ceiling speakers, TV, small hinged wall shelves and two swivel reading lights add to the comfort of the “loft.”

Gaucho is 72″ long and converts to a 44″ wide bed. A 9″ hinged bed extension will support a separate cushion for an overall 81″ length. Two openings in the partition below the platform bed serve as steps.

Carl and Ritta will stow their bikes in the garage compartment along with loads of gear. Loncoin rubberized flooring and side-wall carpet will provide many years of heavy usage protection. Note the tie-down rings. Two auxiliary batteries are located below the rear corners in fiberglass pouches.

A lined 6 CF steel compartment with a key lock cover provides additional security for Carl’s cameras. The spare tire now stows inside to provide room under the van for the storage compartment.

Galley has ample space with a large drawer and storage below. Convection microwave and 4 CF refrigerator are conveniently located. Stove and propane system were deleted for credit.

Porta Potti, electric flush, slides out. Door on closet also can serve as a partition. For more storage there are upper side and front cabinets, plus some storage in the Gaucho base.

Sprinter EB van, a door on the galley hinges down for an outside table.

“I’m a professional photographer for a sports magazine. Ritta and I will travel extensively in our customized Sportsmobile for photo assignments and pleasure.”
— Carl and Ritta Yarbrough

Mobile office area has a long desk and large TV for viewing pictures of the day.

There’s plenty of space for meeting with clients. A curtain can be added for the bed area.

The large platform bed will sleep two very comfortably. Note the built-in steps.

A small galley includes a refrigerator, convection microwave and sink. A Porta Potti stows in the cabinet.

Platform bed is 69″ wide. The length and height can vary. Bed can be made to be removable.

Half dinette will seat four, depending on its length. Usually a window is located over a seat/bed.

Dinette quickly converts into a 30″-wide single bed. The gaucho above makes a 44″-wide bed.

Built for Mike Shore, a sports photographer. Mike will use his Sportsmobile for his traveling office, which sometimes might be on location for days.

“The van is wonderful. Went to Cali and back flawlessly and just finished up for five days. Thanks again for an awesome vehicle. This thing rocks.” — Mike Shore
